5 Tips for Working from Home

For anyone new to working from home, here are 5 tips to help you focused and productive.

Location, Location, Location

Try to find a dedicated and comfortable spot to work that you can associate with your job and leave when you’re off the clock — that means get off the couch, and definitely out of bed. This will help you stay on task with less interruptions.

Have a Plan

When working alone, keep a more structured daily schedule than usual. Time spent alone is better if it’s structured. You can include multiple breaks throughout the day.

Repurpose Your Commute

A major perk of working from home is ditching the commute. Use this time in the morning for a workout, self-renewal, or family time.

Bring the Outdoors In

If you do not have any greens in your designated work from home location, consider adding some indoor plants to create a more inviting and creative space.

Find a Buddy

To help fill the socializing gap while working remotely, find a colleague you can hit up when you’re feeling the need to chat with someone. Alternatively, buddy up with a friend who works elsewhere and is going through the same experience.
